Hi, me again.

 It's been awhile, hasn't it?

I thought about starting over again with the whole blog thing. Pretending like I had never actually started one before. Then, I wouldn't have to face the embarrassment of reviving something that hasn't been touched since the throes of 2020. It's like finally responding to a text message you received...three months ago.

"Hi, it's me! I am so sorry, life just got in the way!" "I am the worst, I can't believe I missed this!"

If there's one thing I've been convicted of recently - and it's the thing that inspired me to dig through my browser history to find this webpage again - it's that life doesn't get in our way. We do.

You've probably heard the phrase: "You are your own worst enemy." And while that can certainly be true, in a much less dramatic, more practical sense, you can be your own detour.

We don't always suffer, necessarily, because of ourselves. But we do often unnecessarily hold ourselves back from getting where we need to go.

Whether it's a blog post or a spiritual discipline, a phone call or a ministry opportunity, I'd like to stop getting in my own way. And I'd like for life to continue to become a gift, not a thief.

So this is the start of that. Or, I suppose, the re-start.

I'm going to keep telling stories and sharing cool things I'm learning in this little space (I am in graduate school, after all!), and hopefully bring some encouragement (and laughs) along the way. And I hope to have you along for the journey.

Happy Friday, friends. And, oh, do one thing for me? Don't let yourself get in the way of your own beautiful, God-given life. 🤍

Please let me make something beautiful
A thing that reminds us there's good in the world
A thing that reminds us there's still something out there worth fighting for...
